We are going to start RADWIMPS’ fan service “Bokunchi”.
We’ve been asking ourselves for long time “Do we need fan club?”. There have been several negative opinions like “Please don’t distinguish the fans”, “People who have money will get advantage” and so we had decided not to make it.
But after working this long as RADWIMPS, there had been something that we started to realize. It’s certain that there are people who thinks, “I don’t need to know much about the band itself. As long as I can listen to their songs that’ll be enough”. And those who think that way are certainly our thankful fans as well.
But at the same time, we also found out that there are fans who think “I want to know more about the band, not only their music but also other things too. I want to know what RADWIMPS are and want to hear their voice directly.”
When we deliver our information or message to these both types of fans, it often happens to be adapting to casual fans. It’s because inner information will be just a private matter and have not much meaning or value for those who have no interest in.
Having these thoughts in our mind, we started to look for something we can do for the people who want to know more about us or who want to communicate closely with us. And we started “RADWIMPS MEMBERS” as a place and opportunity to try and gain our experiences.
Putting into the view to make the paid-membership fan service in the future, we have been doing various things, Takeda’s farm working and bass making, Kuwahara’s hamburger shop and cooking, Yojiro answering fan’s problem, and etc.
We were happy to find that a lot of fans were enjoying it and we felt worth doing it. And now, we decided to start “Bokunchi” in order to build more deeper relationship between the fans who are and who wish to stand close to us.
As we’ve been doing “RADWIMPS MEMBERS” for free, the band and our management were covering the expense but we want to ask membership fee for “Bokunchi”. By doing so, we are willing to make the contents more deeper, more wider, and more interesting on a regular basis. We are now discussing various ideas including staffs. It would be thankful if we could grow together. Although we are not family, not relatives, not brothers or sisters, and not friends, we wish we could build a special relationship with you at this place.
It would be great if for those of you who agree with our thoughts and who are willing to see RADWIMPS closer would join.
Message from staffs
This autumn, “RADWIMPS MEMBERS” is going to reborn as “Bokunchi” and will be new paid-membership web service.
“Bokunchi” will provide contents to enjoy RADWIMPS and to feel more closer to them, like we did at “TOKIBOKU”.
We would like to deliver not only about RADWIMPS’ music but also like to share their latest information and personalities.
This may be a big change for all of you. Some may feel disappointed with this change.
But in order to build deeper relationship with those who likes the band very much, we thought we should improve the quality and quantity of all contents.
We would appreciate if you understand, agree with our thoughts and enjoy “Bokunchi” from this autumn.
RADWIMPS ONLINE SHOP and RADWIMPS TICKET will be separated from “Bokunchi” and will be able to use them by free registration. For those who already have RADWIMPS MEMBERS’ account, you can use the same account for “Bokunchi”. But it will not automatically be transferred to a paid-membership. Further details will be announced at a later date.
